STATE OF EXTREMES

UKUBUTHA by Nicole Nomsa Moyo was included in State of Extremes, a major international exhibition at the Design Museum Holon marking the institution’s 10th anniversary. The exhibition examined how contemporary design responds to escalating global conditions of social, political, technological, and environmental “extremes,” positioning design as a tool for reflection, resistance, and transformation.

The exhibition brought together more than 70 works by leading international designers, artists, and researchers. Alongside UKUBUTHA, the exhibition featured widely recognized figures such as Virgil Abloh, Lucy McRae, Liam Young, Thomas Thwaites, Keiichi Matsuda, and Adam Nathaniel Furman, as well as a broad range of experimental and emerging voices from around the world.

The curatorial team was led by Aric Chen, together with Maya Dvash (Chief Curator of the Design Museum Holon) and Azinta Plantenga.
