KORA

KORA is an immersive art installation by award-winning designer, artist, and urban thinker Nicole Nomsa Moyo, exhibited at Sankofa Square, Canada's largest and busiest public intersection in the heart of downtown Toronto. The installation was curated by Ashley McKenzie-Barnes, Creative Director and Founder of D.PE Agency, and transformed one of the country's most iconic gathering spaces into a place of reflection, cultural exchange, and creative exploration.

Drawing from her African heritage and multidisciplinary design practice, Moyo explores the intersections of culture, memory, identity, and future-thinking through a transformative spatial experience. Born in Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa, her work is rooted in human-centered design, storytelling, and a commitment to social and environmental sustainability. Through KORA, visitors were invited to engage with themes of connection, belonging, and collective futures within a dynamic public setting.

Internationally recognized for her visionary approach to design, Moyo's work has been featured in publications including World Architecture Community, Dezeen, Aspire, and ArchDaily. Her innovative and future-forward design concepts have earned global recognition, with FRAME Magazine identifying her as an emerging designer shaping the future of design and the built environment.

Presented in partnership with Sankofa Square and accompanied by a limited-edition basketball collaboration with the Toronto Raptors, KORA celebrated the power of art, design, and culture to bring people together in the public realm.
