Nicole Nomsa Moyo is a renowned polymath designer known for her anthropocentric and holistic approach to creating meaningful, innovative, and sustainable spaces. She practices as an architectural designer, urban designer, and sessional lecturer. Nicole's work spans various disciplines, driven by a deep commitment to creativity that merges human-centered design, public spaces, community engagement, intersectional sustainability, future-thinking, and diverse cultural influences. are impactful.
Born in Zimbabwe, raised in South Africa, and now based in Toronto, Nicole’s designs have garnered international acclaim over the past decade. Her work has been featured in prestigious publications such as World Architecture Community, Dezeen, Aspire, and ArchDaily. Notably, two of her drawings were
selected as the Best Architecture Drawings of the Year by ArchDaily. FRAME Magazine has acknowledged her as an "emerging designer" emphasizing her expertise in future-oriented, off-grid design concepts. Additionally, she participated in the inaugural Biennale College Architettura, delving
into curation through The Laboratory of the Future.
Nicole's award-winning MA thesis, UKUBUTHA, focused on community-oriented waste-to-energy management using socially-centered architectural solutions. It was featured at Africa's leading design conference, Design Indaba, as well as Dutch Design Week, UN-Habitat, and the State of Extremes exhibition at the Design Museum Holon.
