BEADED
PEARLS
The Beaded Pearls by multidisciplinary artist Nicole Nomsa Moyo were meticulously handcrafted in partnership with women artisans from the Ndebele community of South Africa. Developed as part of Moyo's 2024 Miami Design District Commission, Pearl Jam, each piece embodies a celebration of cultural expression, craftsmanship, and community empowerment.

Through this collaborative process, the project creates opportunities for economic sustainability and financial independence for the artisans involved, while simultaneously supporting the preservation and continuation of Ndebele beading traditions. Each pearl serves as both a contemporary work of art and a vessel of cultural storytelling, carrying forward generations of knowledge, identity, and creative practice.

The Beaded Pearls are available for purchase through the Miami Design District, extending the project's impact beyond the exhibition and directly supporting the artisans whose craftsmanship brings each piece to life. The collection can be purchased through designdistrict.com.
